                   Central Texas Workforce Development

The Central Texas Workforce Development System is designed under the leadership of the Central Texas Workforce Development Board.  The Board works with guidance from local businesses, educators and community-based organizations.

Governor George W. Bush certified the Central Texas Workforce Development Board as a local workforce development board on July 22, 1997.  The Board is made up of 51% business representation including local large, medium and small business members.  Board members also include representatives from education, human services and community-based organizations.

The Central Texas Workforce System is designed to provide a decentralized system of checks and balances with a separation of policy makers, service providers and vendors; the Workforce Board acts as policy maker, Workforce Center Subcontractors provide services, and education/training entities represent vendors.  Customers of the Central Texas Workforce System include employers, educators, residents, job seekers and community based organizations.
