External Relations Committee

Mission:

C To provide policy development and oversight of regional and local Workforce Board initiatives designed to promote workforce development, economic development, customer outreach and recruitment, and a positive awareness in the community of the Central Texas Workforce Board=s programs, services and products.

Purpose:

C To interface with area chambers of commerce and economic development councils to promote an understanding of the Workforce Board=s mission, goals, objectives and planning strategies.

C To proactively represent the interests of the Workforce Board in regional/community forums as program marketing representatives and create a speakers bureau.

C To develop strategies for customer outreach and recruitment concepts to advance the community=s understanding of Workforce programs and related workforce activities.

C To review and advise staff regarding the development of promotional and other items germane to the Workforce Board=s public relations agenda.

C To be strong, articulate advocates of the Workforce Board and its programs before the print and electronic media.

C To facilitate workforce program coordination and integration among the myriad of human resource delivery systems.

C To represent the Workforce Board before national, regional, state and local officials regarding the Central Texas workforce development community.

C To facilitate the Workforce Board=s capacity building ability to absorb and integrate innovative federal and/or state-level initiatives.
