Committee Structure Summary

 

Executive Committee

 

Staff Support: Susan Kamas

Committee Description: Membership includes Chair of the Board, all Committee Chairs, Immediate Past Chair and representatives on national Workforce Executive Committees.  Provide oversight responsibilities for the Board’s business activities designed to promote fiscal and administrative guidance for all workforce expenditures and management responsibilities including personnel, travel, special or called meetings, and Board meeting schedules. 

 

External Relations

 

Staff Support: Susan Kamas, Linda Angel

Committee Description:  Provide policy development and oversight of regional and local Workforce Board initiatives designed to promote workforce development, economic development, customer outreach and recruitment, and a positive awareness in the community of the Central Texas Workforce Board’s programs, services and products.

 

Finance and Resource

 

Staff Support: Susan Kamas, David Gibson

Committee Description: Provide oversight responsibilities for financial issues, Identify, solicit non-formula financial resources, Review financial information, Review audit of Workforce programs and other resources as appropriate, Review all revenues and expenditures by grants on an annual basis, Maintain current status on financial issues/problems, Report to full Board on a quarterly basis; Provide oversight responsibilities for program performance issues; Provide guidance on development of workforce plans; Oversee the development of effective, innovative, strategies and initiatives designed to facilitate the entry and re-entry of customers into employment opportunities that are consistent with customer, market, and legislative demand.

 

Youth Council Advisory Committee

 

Staff Support:  Wanda Williams

Committee Description: Under requirements of the Workforce Investment Act, the committee provides guidance for Central Texas Youth programs.  The committee includes non-board membership to ensure legislative requirements for representative committee membership are met.
